Al Wilson, father of former WCW and WWE star Torrie Wilson, has passed away. Al Wilson was featured on WWE television on Smackdown from 2002-2003 in a storyline that saw him get married to former ECW star Dawn Marie. WWE actually had Al “pass away” as part of the storyline, where he went on a honeymoon with Dawn Marie and suffered a “heart attack.” News of Al Wilson’s passing comes just hours before his daughter, Torrie Wilson, was scheduled to be inducted into the Class of 2019 WWE Hall of Fame tonight in Brooklyn. While Torrie didn’t directly address it, she did mention a “sudden loss” on Instagram. Reports are saying he passed earlier this week and Torrie hadn’t posted online all week and she didn’t mention her father. Perhaps she is saving that for tonight.

WWE issued the following statement on Saturday: “WWE is saddened to learn that Al Wilson has passed away. The father of WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson, Al appeared on SmackDown in 2002 through ’03 and took part in many memorable segments that endeared him to the WWE Universe. WWE extends its condolences to Wilson’s family, friends and fans.”
